The RP3 Virtual Fours Festival is our newest virtual rowing event running alongside the 2025 “Fours Festival” weekend (Fours Head, Junior Fours Head and Veteran Fours Head).
It’s designed so clubs can involve way more athletes than they can send to the river, and so people on RP3s or Concept2s can still “race” that weekend, even if they haven’t managed to get an entry in.
What is it?
The Virtual Fours Festival is a two week virtual competition on either an RP3 or a Concept2. It mirrors the real course on the Tideway, cutting it short by 0.4k to account for the stream speeds. You can enter either as a crew of four or as an individual (solo) into one of 70+ categories.
We want to open the opportunity of racing and competing with each other to the whole club, rather than a limited number of crews.
What is the benefit?
There are a few! Besides the huge giveaway where we have put 12 RP3 rowing machines up for grabs, it’s the perfect opportunity to get a practice run down the course before many rowers head to the Tideway. We want to help you prepare for the 6.8km course, as well as providing a huge incentive to enter.
The prize draw splits the machines to those just taking place in the Virtual event, and also to those taking place on the water additionally.
- If you finish top 4 in a virtual category, your crew/athlete goes into a draw to win one of three brand-new RP3 dynamic machines for the club.
- If you finish in the top 25% of a virtual category, you go into another draw to win one of four seasonal RP3 loan packages.
- If you actually race on the Tideway in the Fours / Junior / Veteran Heads and place in the top 25% there, you go into a third, parallel draw for another four seasonal loan packages.
